There is a term in the digi-world for people who join a bunch of CTs and the term is Serial CT member. Some would call me one being that I'm on 8 CT's. But I don't consider myself one at all. I love what I do and that is scrapping layouts. When I discovered that I could make layouts FOR people, I fell even more in love with the whole idea of scrapping. To be able to help others while doing what I love is a great feeling. I've applied for many more CT's and I'll find out the results soon, but here's the thing, I can handle all of these. All of my layouts are done and their due dates are not until the end of December/early January! Want to know my secret? I'm extremely organized and I give myself a deadline in my head. Here's how I organize...
- Every time I get accepted for a designer's CT, I go straight to my desktop and make a new folder titled, "(Designer's name) CT".
- I then make a word document titled, "Release Dates" and place it in the designer's folder.
- I also make a word document titled, "Credits"...everything I use for my layout, will be credited so that I don't have to try and remember come enabling day/advertising day.
- When a designer releases a new kit/template to us CT'ers, I download right away and place it straight into their folder. Then I fill out the release date document.
- I create a deadline in my head (way before the actual release date of the product) so I know to keep a steady pace while getting my layouts done in a timely matter.
- Once my layout is done, I fill out the credits word document and place my layout into the designer's folder.
- I then go to my blog and make a post putting my layout, the kit/template preview, and a description. I save the post so that on release day, I can put the store link in there and just hit, "Publish".
- I also make sure to check my release date word documents every single day to make sure I haven't missed a date or to prepare for a release date.
This may seem like a lot just to stay on track, but it's actually quiet easy (at least for me). If you need organizational tips, I hope these give you some ideas, or help you on your journey to becoming a CT member or becoming more organized as one.
